Maria Laura Barbato was born in Paysandu, Uruguay in 1969 where she grew up and lived for many years. In 2012, after a few years of being settled in Miami, FL she decided to pursue a career in which she could make an impact and change lives in a positive way. Being a pediatric Occupational Therapist it has never felt like a job, it has always been a part of who she is. It was following her passion in a field that encourages creativity that she started to feel a long love affair with the tiny beautiful beads. Keen to details, and after developing and mastering new techniques, now she shares her creative talent to give life to unique 2D and 3D bead mosaics that captivate.
Beads are placed and glued individually over different materials, such as canvas, wood or metal. Techniques to apply them vary depending on the effect to achieve, such as textures, form, dimension and shading.
