Drawn to the phoenix and its symbolism of renewal, Maria Laura created Becoming during a period of transformation in her own life. Suspended against a quiet, moonlit sky, the figure occupies the space between what has been and what is still taking shape.
Its ascending wings and flowing feathers suggest movement, resilience, and the courage to move toward something not yet fully known. Individually placed bugle beads and glass crystals create direction, texture, and shifting reflections, allowing the phoenix to change as light moves across its surface.
Rather than presenting rebirth as a single moment, Becoming reflects transformation as an unfolding process—the gradual release of what no longer belongs and the emergence of what comes next.
