In Stampede, the elephant emerges as a monumental yet composed presence. Its form is constructed through thousands of individually placed glass beads, with shifting colors and directional patterns defining the contours of its face, ears, and trunk.
The density and luminosity of the beadwork contrast with the softness of the surrounding background, bringing the figure forward while preserving a sense of atmosphere and space. As light moves across the surface, different details become visible, giving the elephant a presence that feels continually changing.
